Marking Our Steel

Ensuring Full Traceability

As part of our full fabrication service, all of our steel is marked and stamped. This step in our fabrication process is done in preparation for cutting, welding and assembling the steel components. This marking serves not only as measurement references for precise assembly, but official identification purposes, meaning the steel can be easily distinguished and traced along the production pipeline.

Our commitment to stamping our steel is crucial for ensuring that the steel is processed correctly, and that each component is fabricated according to the project’s design specifications.

Marked Metal Fabrication

Using the latest technology and high-specification machinery, our steel marking process is streamlined and efficient, so that we can be sure we are delivering the highest quality output.

Surface Preparation

The steel is run through our shot blasting machines to clean the surface of any dirt, oil, rust, or other impurities that could interfere with accurate marking.

Measurement and Positioning

The steel is then put through one of several cut and drill machines that we have on-site. The steel is cut to length and marked for identification and fittings position.

Stamping The Steel

Using numerically controlled data, the steel is marked and stamped for full traceability and identification, as part of our factory production control.

quality-assurance

Quality Assurance

Once all components are marked, our team conducts thorough quality assurance to verify that the products meet design specifications.

cnc

Precision CNC Marking

Our steel is processed through our computer numerical control (CNC) precision machinery. This automated process improves the speed, accuracy and productivity of our production line, as well as reducing our levels of material waste. CNC marking delivers incredibly precise and consistent results.

Why Use Marked Steel?

Aside from ensuring traceability of the steel, marking steel is now a legal obligation under the Construction Production Regulation (CPR), and is also often required in order to meet various UK regulations and standards.

Accuracy and Precision

Marked steel provides precise guidelines for cutting, drilling, or welding, which in turn significantly reduces the need for rework. This helps to keep projects cost efficient, and ensure higher quality output.

Streamlining Assembly and Installation

Clearly marked steel ensures a more efficient assembly process, particularly in larger scale projects.

compliance

Certified Compliance

At Parks, we have a strong focus on compliance in all areas, to ensure we are meeting industry standards, as well as setting standards for more sustainable steel production. As part of this, all steel that passes through our facility is marked, ensuring that we comply with all necessary traceability, material identification, and safety requirements.
